Taking a specialized women's kayak clinic will help you improve your paddling skills
in a helpful, relaxed and supportive atmosphere.
This clinic is tailored specifically to women'
s needs. Learn how to outfit your boat for better
performance, to recognize and correct common technique
problems specific to women, and discuss how to
work through emotions of fear, intimidation and
lack of confidence.
Designed by educators, our instructors use three different
teaching methods during the chalk talk, such as videos,
cues/diagrams and the use of props. Personalized instruction
and plenty of time for questions ensures that everyone
is prepared for the day on the river.
The group and gear are loaded in the van for a short shuttle
(2-8 minutes) to the river where the morning class begins.
Warm-up drills and lesson reviews get the team ready for
the day’s objective.
The instructors find slow-moving current to start with
and then slowly progress to faster moving water. Because
of our high instructor-student ration, instructors can
follow and coach each person as we progress into the curriculum.
Lunch is served riverside at a leisurely pace while your muscles and thoughts
recuperate. After lunch we suit up for the afternoon session. More practice
and attention from the instructors ensure that every day is full of fun and
learning on the river.
