Intermediate and Advanced Kayaking Trips with Kayak Instruction. The Wild Section of the Rogue RIver and the Wild Section of the Illinois River are remote, rodeless and pure. Sundance Kayak School has been teaching on these rivers since the early 70's. These kayak clinics are for the intermediate kayaker
who wants to become comfortable paddling multi-day
class III/IV whitewater. Our kayak instruction is based on river running techniques. We park and play for 5 days |

Rogue Wilderness Kayak School - 5 Days
This kayak school starts with a 1-day warm up on the Recreation Section of the Rogue River. The 4 days that procede the warm up are located on the Wild Section of the Rogue. These trips accompany a raft that carries all of the necessary supplies (huge coolers full of fresh food, bags and sometimes family members who want to join the experience by rafting).
5 Day Sundance Kayak School Includes:
All necessary kayak equipment: Helmet, life jacket, fleece, splash top, wet suit, spray skirt, paddle, kayak, float bags.
5 days of kayak instruction during the wilderness kayak trip
Shuttles from put-ins and take-outs
Breakfast, lunch and dinner on the 4 day whitewater kayak trip
(Day 1 - Sundance only provides lunch)
Sundance Kayak School does not include lodging. Lodging is separate. Please visit our accommodations page for your lodging needs.
Prerequisite skills:
prior experience on class II rapids, ability to paddle five consecutive
days, eddy turns, forward stroke and correction strokes.
You will learn to fine-tune your kayak roll and
work on efficient paddling techniques for boating
more
technical, powerful water. Combination strokes,
hole riding reversals, side-surfing, stern squirts,
cartwheels, bracing techniques and the offside
roll will be emphasized.

Advanced Illinois River Expedition 5 Day -
Prerequisite skills: experience running class III-IV rivers and/or completion
of Sundance Intermediate clinic
The Illinois is the perfect place to apply advanced river
running skills while providing many opportunities to practice tight
moves in fast steep water. Learn to kayak class IV-V from highly trained experienced kayak instructors. Sundance kayak school has been leading trips on the Illinois River since 1984. You'll be in rapids
that will require quick thinking and appropriate reactions.
This is your chance to run a river with some of the most
experienced kayak instructiors in the world. Tips on paddling techniques are stressed at various drops.
Count on lots of whitewater and lots of classic Northwest
rugged beauty.
